The role
This is not a traditional Business Development Manager role. We are looking for a long-term business partner and co-owner to take ownership of Beeva's commercial side and earn up to 30% equity in the value they help build.
Beeva is the product team behind ambitious software - AI MVPs, streaming platforms, blockchain integration and cloud systems. This is a remote full-time position based in Remote - Worldwide.
What you'll do
- Business development: find and approach the founders, business owners and executives who need software built, and open up new industries and markets for Beeva.
- Pipeline: generate leads through LinkedIn, email outreach, referrals, professional networks, communities and partnerships - and keep the pipeline full rather than waiting for inbound.
- Sales: own the cycle end to end, from first contact through discovery, proposal, negotiation and close, following up and holding relationships together the whole way.
- Sales infrastructure: sharpen our pricing, proposals, sales materials and sales process so every deal is easier to win than the last one.
- Marketing: shape Beeva's go-to-market strategy - campaigns, case studies, content, social media and the audiences and industries worth targeting.
- Client relationships: stay close to clients before, during and after projects, and turn delivered work into repeat projects, additional services and referrals.
- Positioning: make sure clients see Beeva as a trusted long-term technology partner, not a development vendor.
- Partnerships: build referral and strategic relationships with agencies, consultants, startups and technology companies that create recurring opportunities.
- Company strategy: work with existing leadership on revenue growth, market expansion, service positioning, pricing, sales process and the long-term direction of the company.
- Represent Beeva in meetings, networking, communities and business discussions - you are the commercial face of the company.
- Build a commercial engine, not an activity log: new opportunities to qualified conversations to proposals to new clients to successful projects to repeat business and referrals.
What we're looking for
- An entrepreneurial mindset - you think like a business owner rather than an employee, and you do not wait for someone to hand you leads.
- Experience across one or more of business development, B2B sales, lead generation, marketing, account management, strategic partnerships or client relationship management.
- Experience selling software development or technology services is especially valuable - software and IT services, digital agency or startup growth backgrounds all count.
- Comfortable approaching decision-makers directly and building genuine relationships with founders and executives.
- You can create and execute a business development strategy, not just work a list someone else built.
- Strong negotiation and closing instincts, and a feel for how B2B relationships are actually won.
- Clear communication with business and technical people alike - you will sit between clients and the engineers building their product.
- Comfortable working independently and remotely, with a lot of autonomy and very little hand-holding.
- You want to build something for the long term, and you are willing to share both the opportunities and the risks of growing an early-stage company.
What we offer
- Up to 30% equity in Beeva, subject to the final partnership agreement, vesting terms, responsibilities and continued contribution.
- No guaranteed fixed salary initially - the equity structure exists so both partners are aligned on the same objective: increasing the long-term value of Beeva.
- A written agreement covering equity percentage, vesting schedule, roles and responsibilities, decision-making rights, performance expectations, leaving and buyback provisions, and any future salary or commission arrangements.
- Real input into important decisions: strategy, pricing, positioning, partnerships and where the company goes next.
- A team that can already build - AI, web and mobile applications, cloud, automation, CRM, blockchain and custom software - so you are selling capability that exists today.
- Fully remote, long-term, and working directly with the people building the products.
- You participate in the long-term value you help create rather than being paid a commission on it and moving on.
