Co-Founder & Head of Business Development
Beeva has the engineering and design team. We are looking for a commercial co-founder to build and lead everything on the client side - from choosing who we sell to, to signed and paid projects - with a proposed equity stake and real decision-making authority.
What we do, and where we actually are
- Beeva is a remote software studio building AI MVPs, web and mobile applications, CRM and workflow automation, cloud solutions, streaming platforms and blockchain integrations. Our primary market is clients in the United States.
- What exists today: a senior engineering and design team, a delivery process, this website and examples of our team's work.
- What does not exist yet: a client pipeline, a CRM, a funded advertising programme or a supply of qualified leads. Those are what you would build.
- Beeva is not yet incorporated. The legal entity, jurisdiction and formation arrangements will be agreed before the partnership is formally completed.
Why we are looking for a commercial co-founder
- Our founding team is technical. We can scope, build and ship software, but winning clients is a different discipline and deserves an owner, not a side task.
- We want a partner rather than a salesperson: someone who shapes what Beeva sells and to whom, holds the client relationship, and shares in the value of the company they help build.
- Splitting the company this way - commercial and technical, each with a clear owner - lets both sides move quickly without stepping on each other.
What you would own
- Choosing and refining our target customer segments, together with the technical founder.
- Developing the commercial strategy and how Beeva is positioned.
- Finding potential clients through professional networks, LinkedIn, targeted outreach, referrals, communities and strategic partnerships.
- Building and maintaining the CRM and sales pipeline.
- Qualifying opportunities and running discovery calls.
- Bringing in technical input when feasibility and scope are on the table.
- Preparing proposals and leading commercial negotiations.
- Closing projects within agreed pricing and approval boundaries.
- Client communication and commercial follow-ups.
- Coordinating invoicing, payment follow-ups, renewals and referrals.
- Building repeatable sales and marketing processes.
- Representing Beeva professionally in client and partnership discussions.
This is commercial ownership with real accountability and decision-making authority. You are expected to create opportunities rather than receive them. You are not expected to bring an existing client list, use personal contacts you would rather keep separate, or pay for marketing yourself.
What the technical founder and team provide
- Clear, honest information about our technical capabilities and relevant work examples.
- Technical participation in discovery calls when you need it.
- Feasibility assessments for prospective projects.
- Scope, effort estimates, staffing and delivery timelines.
- Development, design, quality assurance and deployment.
- Delivery updates and technical answers for clients.
- Collaboration on proposals and change requests.
- Agreed delivery capacity and pricing boundaries, so you know what you can sell.
You can coordinate client priorities directly with the team. Commitments on technical scope, staffing or delivery dates need the technical founder's approval first - which is also why the team owes you quick, clear answers.
The ideal candidate
- Evidence of selling custom software, technology consulting or agency services - including prospecting, discovery, proposals, negotiation and closing.
- You have personally helped close deals, and can describe what was sold, to whom and what your part was.
- Comfortable approaching decision-makers in US businesses and building relationships with founders and executives.
- You can design a business development approach and run it, not only work a list someone else built.
- Clear communication with business and technical people alike.
- Able to work independently and remotely, with enough weekly availability to build something substantial.
- Interested in building a company over the long term, on the terms set out below.
An existing client book is not required. Neither is a specific job title - what matters is evidence that you can find, qualify and close software or services work.

How we work together
- Business strategy, project feasibility and sustainable growth are decided together.
- A weekly commercial and delivery meeting, and a monthly finance review.
- Client correspondence, proposals, contracts and invoices kept in company systems, using company business email.
- Disagreements go to a written summary and a meeting within 10 business days, then an independent mediator if needed.

Proposed terms, subject to mutual agreement and signed ownership documents. Nothing here is a commitment until those documents are signed. Vesting percentages refer to your agreed equity grant, not to percentage points of company ownership.
- There is no guaranteed initial salary.
- There is no automatic commission or revenue share.
- Any future salary, commission or incentive needs a separate written agreement and the appropriate company approval.
- Equity is ownership of the company. It is not a percentage of client payments.
- You are not expected to pay marketing expenses personally. Marketing spend happens within a budget we approve together; there is no funded budget today.
- Team members' project compensation is agreed separately with each of them. It is not unpaid by default.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a salary or commission?
Not initially. There is no guaranteed salary and no automatic commission or revenue share. Any future salary, commission or incentive would need a separate written agreement and company approval.
What does the equity actually mean?
A proposed ownership stake (up to 30%) in the company, vesting over five years with a one-year cliff. It is ownership, not a share of client payments, and it only exists once signed ownership documents are in place.
Do I need to bring my own clients?
No. You are expected to create opportunities, but not to arrive with a client book or to use personal contacts you would rather keep separate.
Will I have to pay for marketing?
No. Marketing spend happens within a budget we approve together. There is no funded marketing budget today, and you are not expected to fund one personally.
Are there leads waiting for me?
No. There is no existing pipeline, lead supply or funded advertising. Building those is the core of the role.
Is Beeva incorporated?
Not yet. The legal entity, jurisdiction and formation arrangements will be agreed before the partnership is formally completed, and you would be part of that discussion.
Can I set prices and sign contracts?
You set pricing and discounts within agreed boundaries; exceptions below them are approved jointly. Contracts are signed only by an appropriately authorised signatory once the company exists, and technical commitments need the technical founder's approval.
How many hours does this need?
Substantial, long-term involvement. Your weekly availability and working hours are agreed together rather than set in advance.
What if it does not work out?
Under the proposed terms either partner can leave with 30 days' notice and a handover. Vesting stops when you leave; vested equity is not forfeited and follows the agreed transfer and buyout terms.
Who is on the team?
A senior engineering and design team led by the technical founder. You meet them during the selection process; we publish team profiles only with each person's permission.
